David Wachtel is the president of Hautacam Consulting, Inc., an Indianapolis based organization that provides training and coaching in negotiations, customer service, change management, communication/conflict resolution, leadership/management development, and general business consulting. His experience includes a 20 year career in the insurance industry covering both the sales and underwriting/risk management functions from both the perspective of the company and of the agent.

Mr. Wachtel has run profit centers ranging from $50-120 million in revenue. For over 15 years, he has taught management, communication, negotiating, and customer service skills to employees under his leadership at several organizations. His training methods had significant impact on corporate results and on the career development of managers and sales personnel.

Mr. Wachtel, in addition to working with organizations to improve their results, has taught negotiating at both the University of Wisconsin, and Indiana University. He has several articles on negotiating published in Negotiator Magazine, www.negotiatormagazine.com, including the lead article in the April 2005 edition. He has published articles in Executive Excellence Magazine, and Sales and Marketing Excellence Magazine on leadership and customer service, and provided negotiating resource material to the Unites States Air Force Air War College, the non-profit unit within the University of Pittsburgh, and was recently published in India (Independent Chartered Financial Analysts of India), also on negotiating skills. He published in the Trustee Leadership Development Magazine on behavioral dimensions and effective leadership through communication with non-profit boards.

Mr. Wachtel is a graduate of Butler University.
